Ray Bewes Collection

Join us each Sunday in the Wireless Workshop for an hour of nostalgia ,with easy listening music and guests.

Step back to the good old days of Sunday lunchtime radio. Ray welcomes your comments as well as any stories from yesterday you would like to share. There is also the chance to nominate a special song from your past the you would like to hear again in our 'Sentimental Song Slot'.

Coming up...

In the New Year, we shall be including a weekly look at vintage radio comedy. We shall also include information about the writers and artists who brought many laughs to the airwaves. Recall those fun shows with us on Sunday lunchtimes.

My brother and I went to a recording of one of the vintage radio shows back in the 1960's. Do you have any special memories of those programmes? If so, let us know and we can include your personal memories in the show.

Previously on the show...

Over the last few months we have raided the Wireless Workshop achives for interviews with many well known actors and personalities, including Jane Freeman (from Last of the Summer Wine), Frank Thornton and Una Stubbs. We have also included interviews with members of many local Societies, both past and present including Swindon Orchid Society, Cricklade and Swindon Railway and the Swindon Society.

Music played has included tracks from vintage easy listening greats like Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and Bing Crosby to todays greats like Micheal Buble, Micheal Feinstein and Clare Teal.
