Home Library volunteers waiting for your call Volunteers are at the ready to take Swindon Borough Council’s library service to housebound bookworms. The council’s Home Library is available to residents who have a long-term disability which prevents them from getting to a library, or who may struggle to carry books home. The service is also offered to any residents of the borough who are recovering from a stay in hospital or long illness at home and for those residents whose carers do not have time to visit the library on their behalf.
The volunteers go out in pairs every three weeks and pick up bags of items such as normal and large print books, stories on tape or CD, music CDs and DVDs to deliver to people who cannot make it to their local library. Home Library cannot take any more volunteers but is keen to hear from any new customers. For more information about Home Library call 01793 707127
